Benjamin Sesko Supports Carrick to Become the Permanent Manager of Manchester United
The player came to the defense of the current Manchester United coach and called for his permanent hiring.
A clear request to management
Benjamin Sesko has once again made a direct demand to Manchester United's management: for Michael Carrick to stop being the interim manager and take on the role of head coach permanently. The Slovenian striker, whose performance has improved since Carrick's arrival, highlighted the change in atmosphere at Old Trafford.
Team recovery under Carrick
The numbers back up the request: since Carrick took the reins on an interim basis, the team has earned 29 points out of a possible 39 in 13 games. That resurgence included a 2-1 win over Brentford, a result that left United 11 points clear of sixth-placed Brighton with only four games to play and qualification for the Champions League virtually secured. Against this backdrop, several players began publicly expressing their support for the manager who had managed to stabilize the squad; Sesko, who scored six of his ten Premier League goals under Carrick, led these calls

Sesko's comments after the decisive goal
After scoring the game-winning goal against the Bees, Sesko highlighted the coach's impact on his play and on the team, attributing his improvement to both tactical and emotional changes. “Of course, he's an amazing coach, I've said that many times,” Sesko told reporters. “He's brought a different energy. Also, the way we work in training is amazing, and of course, I would like him to stay here."
Bruno Fernandes and the battle for the record
Carrick's influence is also evident in key players like Bruno Fernandes, who assisted Sesko on the winning goal and reached 19 goals for the season. He is one goal short of the Premier League record for goals in a single season, which is shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne at 20. Regarding his teammate, Sesko was unequivocal: “Look, he's capable of anything,” he added. “The way he plays, how he understands the game, is just outstanding, and I'm really happy to be part of the team with him."

Announced farewell of a reference
The victory against Brentford also highlighted an inevitable reality: the departure of key players. Casemiro, who opened the scoring in that match, will leave when his contract expires this summer. Sesko valued the presence of the Brazilian and warned about the loss it will mean for the team: "He's a workhorse. He has experience; what he brings to the court is incredible. You need someone like that. And I think it would be foolish not to look at him and not try to be like him in terms of work intensity and those things."
With the team on the rise and internal voices calling for continuity, the pressure on the management to turn Carrick's interim status into a firm decision intensifies; the support from players like Sesko and Fernandes fuels the debate about confirming the coach definitively.
