Bournemouth 5-0 Nottingham Forest: Hat-trick hero Ouattara ends visitors' unbeaten run
Bournemouth continued their quest for European football in stunning fashion, producing a five-star display to brush aside Nottingham Forest.
Dango Ouattara scored a hat-trick to end Nottingham Forest’s eight-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League as Bournemouth eased to a 5-0 victory on Saturday.
Justin Kluivert continued his recent hot streak to open the scoring at the Vitality Stadium, netting his fifth goal in three top-flight games in the ninth minute.
The Cherries moved further ahead shortly after the restart with Kluivert turning provider this time, clipping a delicate ball into the box for Ouattara to loop a header over Matz Sels.
Ouattara then grabbed his second six minutes later, skipping past Murillo before finding the bottom right-hand corner to ruthlessly punish Nicolas Dominguez's poor pass.
The Burkina Faso forward then completed his treble three minutes from time, reacting quickest to substitute Marcus Tavernier's effort that was spilled into his path by Sels.
But the scoring was not finished there. Antoine Semenyo grabbed his seventh goal of the season in first-half stoppage time to add some gloss to an impressive all-round display.
The triumph moves Andoni Iraola’s side up to sixth in the standings, while Forest remain third, but now sit nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
Data Debrief: Five-star Cherries shine again
Bournemouth’s quest for European quest continued in stunning fashion, making light work of a defence that has rarely been breached in the Premier League this season.
And their triumph was inspired by Ouattara, who became the first African player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League for Bournemouth, while the Cherries have struck three trebles in the competition this season – as many as in their previous six top-flight campaigns combined.
He also now has 10 Premier League goal involvements for the Cherries this term (six goals, four assists), more than in his first two seasons in the competition combined (two goals, five assists).
Bournemouth are unbeaten in each of their last 11 Premier League games (won seven, drawn four) – extending their longest run without defeat in the competition. Meanwhile, the Cherries have recorded their biggest victory in the top-flight since April 2019 (5-0 vs Brighton).
