Manchester City Denies Riquelme’s Claim, Denies Haaland Clause, and Considers Legal Action
The English club closed ranks around Haaland, denied rumors about clauses, and warned that it could take Riquelme to court.
Clarity and decisiveness in Manchester
Manchester City made it clear that Erling Haaland is not for sale and that the promises of Enrique Riquelme, candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid, are unfounded, after the player and his entourage also denied the statements made by the Real Madrid presidential candidate about the possible signing of the Norwegian. The Manchester institution reacted strongly to the businessman's announcement, denying any possibility of the Norwegian forward's departure and dismissing the existence of a release clause.
The supposed clause
One of the most controversial points was precisely that supposed clause, which some Spanish media estimated at around 174 million dollars and which would allow the attacker to leave the club before 2034, the year his contract ends. However, from Manchester, they were categorical "there is no contractual clause that allows it."
The club's stance aligns with that of the player's entourage, which also denied the rumors. According to The Athletic, City officials emphasized that "the stories that have emerged from Spain about Erling Haaland's future are false" and added that "there is no possibility of this happening."

Legal measures
The response was not limited to denying the information. The English media revealed that the City officials are considering taking legal action against Riquelme "for the use of our player's image in this context." They believe that the candidate's electoral campaign cannot involve their top figure without authorization.
