Postecoglou keen to find mole at Tottenham ahead of Wolves trip
Tottenham travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday, with the visitors struggling with an inside leak.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is determined to find the mole within their camp in the lead-up to their trip to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.
Speaking the morning after their 1-1 draw at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final first leg, Postecoglou was convinced that their efforts were being undermined.
"There is no doubt we've got a leak inside the club. Someone continues to leak out information, and they have all year," he said, reported by BBC Sport.
"I don't know why as it just makes our job even more difficult. We've narrowed it down, I've got a fair idea where it's coming from. We will deal with it. You'd like to think that everyone within our camp is working with us rather than against us."
Postecoglou is hoping for a performance on Sunday, but was also understanding that the Frankfurt game had taken a physical toll on his players.
"It was a big physical toll last night. It's a big game [on Sunday] and a big performance is needed, so having some fresh legs will help that. Fair to make some changes," he said.
"They [Wolves] are a good side, and they have stabilised in recent weeks. It was a bit dicey for them when Vitor Pereira took over, but they have some real talent in that team. It will be a good challenge for us."
Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira, meanwhile, has confirmed that Matheus Cunha will not come straight back into the starting XI having served his four-game suspension for violent conduct.
"What is fair? It's fair to keep going with the same team. That is my opinion. This is football, this is commitment, leadership. Matheus will come to help us; he understands, I had a conversation with him, but I will play the same team," he said.
"Tactically, when we are attacking we are doing different movements. I am asking different things than when I started. When you start to put more and more things on the system, the system will show you that we can do a lot of things differently.
"We are trying to improve our style of play, especially with the ball."
Despite going 12 points clear of the bottom three with a victory away to Ipswich last weekend, Pereira confirmed that they will be taking no chances until safety is confirmed mathematically.
"If you relax it's a big mistake. It's my responsibility to not allow them to relax because the next game will be very hard for us," he said.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Wolves – Jorgen Strand Larsen
Strand Larsen has scored in each of Wolves' last three Premier League games (four goals). The only player to score in four or more consecutive appearances in the competition for the club is Henri Camara, who scored in five in a row from March to April 2004.
He is also second in the Premier League for off-the-ball runs into the opposition box (262) this season.
Tottenham Hotspur – Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson has 11 Premier League goals this season. The only Welsh players to score more in a 38-game season in the competition are John Hartson (15 in 1997-98), Nathan Blake (12 in 1997-98), Craig Bellamy (13 in 2005-06), and Gareth Bale (21 in 2012-13).
Johnson is Spurs' top scorer in the league and has also supplied two assists so far this season.
MATCH PREDICTION: WOLVES WIN
Wolves have won each of their last three Premier League games, with no side currently enjoying a longer ongoing winning run in the competition. Wolves last won four successive matches in the top flight in January 1972.
Since Vítor Pereira’s first game in charge in December, only five sides have won more Premier League games than Wolves (seven). They’ve won as many of his 15 league games in charge as predecessor Gary O’Neil managed in his final 34.
Only the bottom two sides, Southampton (13) and Leicester (11), have lost more Premier League away games this season than Tottenham Hotspur (nine).
Ange Postecoglou's side have lost their last two away league games against Wolves, as many as in their previous 12 (W8 D2). They last lost three consecutive league visits to Molineux between 1964 and 1968.
