Tottenham have signed Czech Republic U21 international goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague on a deal that runs until 2031.

Spurs will pay a reported £12.5m for the stopper, who will help allay some of their issues between the sticks, where they currently face a selection crisis.

First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is out injured, having broken his ankle during Tottenham's 4-0 victory over Manchester City in November.

The absence of Vicario has been credited as a large reason for Spurs' drop-off in form, having won just two of their 11 matches in all competitions since he came out of the team.

Back-up Fraser Forster has kept just one clean sheet, against bottom-of-the-league Southampton in December, but was also forced to withdraw from the squad for their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

As a result, Brandon Austin made his professional debut for the club at the age of 25, having been a senior player there since 2017 without making an appearance.

Austin conceded twice on first-team bow and, following Kinsky's arrival, it looks doubtful that he will get another shot in the league.

The Czech goalkeeper has made 29 appearances in all competitions this season, keeping 14 clean sheets.

The 21-year-old could make his debut for the club in their next match against Tamworth on 12 January, while his league debut could come three days later at home to Arsenal in the north London derby.
