David Moyes cut a frustrated figure after Everton's 2-2 draw with Hull City, claiming his team had "very few performers" who met the required level at the MKM Stadium.
'We had very few performers today' – Moyes frustrated by Everton after Hull draw
Everton failed to hold onto their lead against Hull City on Sunday, eventually settling for a draw that left David Moyes disappointed.
Joe Gelhardt opened the scoring three minutes into the second half, though Everton soon restored parity through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's header.
Dewsbury-Hall then turned provider for Thierno Barry to put the Toffees ahead in the 68th minute, only for substitute Mohamed Belloumi to rescue a point for Hull with a left-footed finish six minutes later.
The draw nevertheless extended the Toffees' unbeaten start to six Premier League matches, a feat they had previously achieved in 2006-07 (seven games) and 2013-14 (six).
Moyes, though, was not overly impressed.
"A really frustrating day. We get a draw and it's a decent point away from home," Moyes told Sky Sports.
"Hull have done really well here, but we should have won the game. We had very few performing today. I'm frustrated with it a little bit.
"There were not many performing at the level I think they have been or can perform at. I could hardly pick a player out who I could give a pass mark.
"When we went 2-1 up, I didn't think they could come back. We were so comfortable and didn't look like we should be conceding. A couple of defensive lapses were really poor.
"Everybody here needs to step up their game."
Hull, meanwhile, preserved their unbeaten home record this season thanks to another decisive contribution from Belloumi.
The winger has now scored three goals and assisted two more, contributing to five of Hull's eight Premier League goals this term (63%).
"I'm very happy with the boys because we showed a great mentality and we equalised," Hull head coach Sergej Jakirovic told Sky Sports. "It's a good point for us.
"Everton are still unbeaten after six games. It's difficult to beat them. They have high tactical discipline and are strong in challenges, especially the centre-backs. It was not easy but we scored two nice goals."
