How Much Does Each Helicopter Ride Cost for Neymar Jr. to Train with Santos?
The return of Neymar Jr. to Santos has not only been a nostalgic event for the fans but also a display of luxury and exclusivity. The Brazilian star, who resides in a luxurious mansion in Mangaratiba, Rio de Janeiro, must travel over 400 kilometers to reach the team's training sessions. To avoid long road trips, he chooses to travel by private helicopter, a decision that costs him thousands of dollars each day.
High Costs per Trip
According to reports from Brazilian media, Neymar spends between 2,400 and 3,500 Brazilian reais (approximately 500 to 725 dollars) per trip, meaning his daily investment in transportation ranges from 1,000 to 1,450 dollars just for fuel. On top of that, there are other operational costs, such as the aircraft's maintenance and the crew's salaries, which bring the annual total to between 400,000 and 500,000 dollars.
The helicopter Neymar uses for his travels is an Airbus H145, a high-performance aircraft built in 2019. Designed to carry up to 11 people, including two pilots, this model stands out for its ability to operate in adverse weather conditions and its luxurious, custom-made interior. The aircraft features leather seats, soundproofing for added comfort, and state-of-the-art technology to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight.
An Alternative to Reduce Costs
The operating cost of the Airbus H145 depends on fuel consumption, which ranges between 240 and 350 liters per trip, with an estimated cost of 8 to 10 reais per liter. When added to maintenance and safety costs, this makes each trip of Neymar a significant investment that he is trying to reduce in the long term.
For this reason, the Brazilian forward is already considering purchasing a mansion in Morro de Santa Terezinha, in the city of Santos. Buying this property would allow him to avoid the costly helicopter rides and make his adaptation to the team easier while preparing for his much-anticipated debut in the Campeonato Paulista.
