Fàbregas’ Toughest Match Ever Because of Conte
"We have to remember that we played against a great team that was the leader and has an incredible coach who changed my game plan so many times during the match," Fàbregas told DAZN, highlighting the challenge of defeating Napoli.
Spanish coach Cesc Fàbregas, who led Como 1907 to a 2-1 victory over Napoli on Sunday, admitted that facing Italian manager Antonio Conte in a tactical battle made him "gain a year of experience."
"He made me sweat and work hard"
"Today, I gained a year of experience as a coach. He made me sweat and work so much. I can only thank Antonio because this helped me raise my level. This might be the toughest match of my coaching career," he added.
Como 1907 secured the win thanks to a play orchestrated by Argentine Nico Paz and finished by Spanish forward Assane Diao, two of the team’s standout players.
"There’s still a lot to improve, and they know it. We have to keep working hard but with humility. I gave them two days off after the victory," concluded Fàbregas.
