Napoli on Alert After Kvaratskhelia Suffers Knee Injury
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the winger for Napoli, sustained a ligament injury in his right knee during the last match against Lazio in Serie A.
Injury and Initial Measures
"During Sunday’s game against Lazio, after a tackle, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia suffered a sprain in his right knee. The player underwent exams that revealed a low-grade injury to the medial collateral ligament. Kvaratskhelia has already started his rehabilitation process," reported Napoli.
The club didn’t specify recovery times, but the Georgian will certainly miss the upcoming match against Udinese and is a serious doubt for the game against Genoa. The most likely return date is for the match against Venezia, the last game of 2024.
A Key Player for Napoli
'Kvara', a key figure in Napoli under Antonio Conte, who until Sunday was the leader of Serie A, played the full 90 minutes in the match against Lazio, which ended in a 1-0 loss for the Partenopei at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Additionally, the Georgian star has played every minute of the season, except for one: the match last Thursday, also against Lazio but in the Coppa Italia, where the Roman side eliminated Napoli from the competition.
