OFFICIAL: Santiago Giménez Presented by Milan
"AC Milan is pleased to announce the permanent signing of Santiago Tomás Giménez, from Feyenoord Rotterdam. The Mexican forward has signed a contract lasting until June 30, 2029," the club said in a statement.
Deal confirmed through 2029
AC Milan announced Monday, on the final day of the transfer window, the signing of Mexican international Santiago Giménez through 2029. He will wear the number 7 shirt, previously worn by Spanish forward Álvaro Morata, now a player for Galatasaray.
New number, new opportunity
Giménez, who has scored five goals in the five matches he has played in this season's Champions League, will wear the number 7 shirt. His debut is expected to be this Wednesday against Roma in the Coppa Italia.
First day in Milan
The forward arrived in Milan on Saturday and attended the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro) on Sunday, accompanied by Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, to watch the Milan derby, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
From Cruz Azul to Feyenoord, now Milan
Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on April 18, 2001, Giménez began his career in the youth ranks of Mexican club Cruz Azul. He debuted with the senior team in August 2017 and scored 21 goals in 105 matches with the club, winning a Copa MX and a Supercopa MX.
In 2022, he joined Feyenoord, where he played 105 matches and scored 65 goals. His honors in the Netherlands include an Eredivisie title, a KNVB Cup, and a Johan Cruyff Shield.
Commitment to the Mexican National Team
Santiago made his debut with the Mexican national team in October 2021. To date, he has played 32 matches and scored four goals with the 'Tri'.
