Done Deal! Jonathan David Lands in Turin to Sign With Juventus
Juventus’ first signing of the summer is here! The Canadian striker has landed in Turin to finalize his move to the Bianconeri. We’ve got all the details.
Agreement closed with the Canadian striker
While Juventus was still processing their 1-0 elimination against Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup, the club was quietly wrapping up its first signing of the summer: Jonathan David.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the board reached an agreement with the player's representatives to resolve the final details, particularly regarding agent commissions. The Canadian forward will sign a deal worth €6 million per year, plus up to €2 million in performance-based bonuses.
A dream come true… despite his Barcelona nod
Just a few weeks ago, Jonathan David expressed admiration for FC Barcelona. But behind closed doors, the 24-year-old made his intentions clear: his priority was to play in Serie A and wear the black and white stripes of La Vecchia Signora.
Now a free agent after his contract with LOSC Lille expired on June 30, David arrives on the back of a spectacular season—25 goals and 12 assists in 49 games.
What happens now with Vlahović and Milik?
David’s arrival signals potential exits up front. The biggest name on that list is Dušan Vlahović, who hasn’t convinced in Turin and carries a heavy wage. With just one year left on his deal and no plans to renew, Juventus is actively seeking to offload him.
Arkadiusz Milik also appears to be out of coach Igor Tudor’s plans and could be shown the door as well. The rebuild has begun—and this summer could bring even more fireworks in Turin.
