Beşiktaş returns to domestic action looking to recover from a disappointing result in its most recent league appearance.
The team managed by Vincenzo Italiano suffered a 2-0 away defeat against Trabzonspor on October 19, with Ozan Tufan and Mohamed Salah scoring for the hosts.
That defeat interrupted the positive momentum Beşiktaş had built after securing a 2-1 victory over Kocaelispor in its previous league match.
However, the Black Eagles showed resilience in European competition on October 22, earning a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in the UEFA Europa League.
Wilfred Ndidi gave Beşiktaş the lead shortly before halftime, but Yeremy Pino and Jean-Philippe Mateta turned the match around for the English side. Junior Olaitan eventually secured the equalizer in the 73rd minute.
With five victories and three defeats from its opening eight league matches, Beşiktaş has collected 15 points and remains within reach of the teams at the top.
The hosts will now attempt to maintain their perfect home record in the Süper Lig, having won all four of their league matches at Tüpraş Stadyumu this season.
İstanbul Başakşehir travels across the city looking to continue its recent improvement under Nuri Şahin.
The visitors are unbeaten in their last three league appearances, collecting seven points from a possible nine.
Their most recent match ended in a 2-1 home victory over Gaziantep FK on October 18.
Eldor Shomurodov and Umut Güneş scored for Başakşehir, securing an important result after the team's goalless draw away to Konyaspor on October 11.
Before those encounters, Başakşehir had recorded an impressive 4-0 victory over Gençlerbirliği, with Shomurodov scoring twice and Andreas Skov Olsen and Davie Selke also finding the net.
After eight rounds, Başakşehir has registered three wins, two draws, and three defeats, scoring 12 goals and conceding 12.
The visitors will aim to translate their improved domestic form into a positive result against one of Istanbul's traditional giants.
Recent history adds another dimension to Monday's clash.
The teams last met in the Süper Lig on February 15, 2026, when Beşiktaş claimed a dramatic 3-2 away victory against Başakşehir.
Now, with four points separating the sides after eight league matches, both clubs have an opportunity to improve their position.
A victory would allow Beşiktaş to build on its strong home performances and remain close to the leading contenders.
Başakşehir, meanwhile, will look to extend its unbeaten streak and secure its first away victory of the league campaign.
