Galatasaray secure victory with two late goals

Galatasaray defeated Kasımpaşa 3-1 in the Turkish Süper Lig, with the result decided in the closing minutes.

The Istanbul giants entered the match looking to recover from a heavy defeat against Salah's Trabzonspor and build momentum ahead of their next European challenge.

Abdülkerim Bardakcı opened the scoring in the 45th minute, giving Galatasaray the advantage heading into the second half.

However, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi equalized for Kasımpaşa in the 68th minute, bringing the match level at 1-1.

With the game approaching its conclusion, Barış Alper Yılmaz struck in the 90th minute to restore Galatasaray's lead.

Mario Lemina then scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time, sealing a 3-1 victory.

The reigning champions return after an extended international break needing a response following a painful 4-0 defeat to Trabzonspor, a match in which Mohamed Salah scored a hat trick.

The biggest boost for Galatasaray is the return of Victor Osimhen, who missed the club's previous two Süper Lig matches through injury and comes back just in time for a demanding week.

3 Big Questions for the Turkish Süper Lig return

How Galatasaray Comes Into the Match

Galatasaray returns under pressure. The heavy loss to Trabzonspor did more than leave a mark — it also cost the club top spot in the Süper Lig, with Amed SK taking over at the summit.

Osimhen's absence was noticeable. The Nigerian striker had scored six goals in four league matches before his injury, while Galatasaray managed just one goal across the two games he missed.

His return also comes at a crucial moment. After facing Kasımpaşa, Galatasaray will host Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League.

How Kasımpaşa Comes Into the Match

Kasımpaşa visits Galatasaray in the first match back for both clubs after the long international break, with the opportunity to face a reigning champion under pressure to respond.

The information provided does not include Kasımpaşa's recent results, league position or latest squad news, so the main focus heading into the match is on Galatasaray's reaction and Osimhen's return.

Final Take

Galatasaray has a response to deliver after its toughest setback of the season and gets its main attacking weapon back at an ideal time.

Kasımpaşa will face a team carrying plenty of pressure, but also one strengthened by the return of Victor Osimhen ahead of an important week in both Turkey and Europe.
