Morata "Would Like to Stay at Galatasaray for a Long Time"
Álvaro Morata gave an interview to ‘El Larguero’ where he explained his future plans… despite having a contract with Milan
At 32 years old, Álvaro Morata can boast of being the fifth player who has moved the most money in football history, with a total of 208 million euros. Ahead of him are only Neymar (400 M€), Lukaku (369 M€), Cristiano (247 M€), and Dembélé (220 M€). He has played for eight clubs throughout his career since debuting with Real Madrid. But his goal is clear: he wants to play for Galatasaray next season.

Morata is in love with the atmosphere in the SüperLig
It was José Mourinho who made him debut as a professional footballer at Real Madrid. However, now they are rivals in the SüperLig: “I have great respect and affection for Mourinho because he gave me the opportunity to play. But we may have to wait until we leave Turkey to talk,” Morata explained in an interview with ‘El Larguero’ while he is immersed in Spain’s concentration ahead of the quarterfinals of the UEFA Nations League against Netherlands.
Morata has been in Turkey for a short time. But it has been enough for him to fall completely in love: “The rivalry between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe is much more intense and heightened than that of Real Madrid-Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid-Barcelona. I had never seen anything like it. A foreign referee came to officiate the derby, and there were more than 30,000 police officers in the stadium. It was incredible.”
Morata regrets leaving Atlético de Madrid
Morata was welcomed as an idol at Galatasaray… and he is delivering on the field. He has already scored three goals and provided one assist in six matches. “I would like to stay at Galatasaray for a long time, but they also have to want me to stay. I’m very happy here, they treat me very well and with affection,” Morata revealed.
Morata has clear future plans. However, he is aware that he still has a contract with Milan, and the decision doesn’t only depend on him. However, he admitted that he made a mistake leaving Atlético de Madrid: “If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t leave Atlético de Madrid. Simeone really wanted me. My father and my agent told me I was making a mistake.”
