In the 15th minute, Beşiktaş came close to scoring when Al-Musrati intercepted a pass in midfield, allowing Immobile to shoot from outside the box, but the ball hit the crossbar, silencing the local fans’ calls for a goal.
Samsunspor, on the other hand, also had clear scoring chances. In the 40th minute, Van Drongelen made a long pass that caused a collision between Emirhan Topçu and Uduokhai, leaving the ball for Emre Kılınç. He fired from outside the area, but Beşiktaş goalkeeper Mert Günok made a great save to keep the score level.
