Galatasaray Look to Respond After 2-2 Draw Against Çorum

Galatasaray began the season with an unexpected result.

The defending champions played out a 2-2 draw against newly promoted Çorum FK at RAMS Park in a match that appeared to be under control after Victor Osimhen opened the scoring. However, Alexandros Kyziridis and Jesús Ramírez quickly turned things around for the visitors.

Osimhen had to step up again in the 90th minute to rescue a point with his second goal of the night. Galatasaray created numerous opportunities, but a lack of efficiency in front of goal and defensive mistakes ultimately cost them two points.

The Nigerian striker will once again be one of the team’s biggest weapons as they search for their first victory.

Buruk’s side enter the season as defending champions after winning last year’s Süper Lig, the 26th league title in club history. However, the opening-day draw made it clear that defending the crown will not be easy.

Erzurumspor Look to Pull Off an Upset at Home

For Erzurumspor FK, the situation is very different.

Serkan Özbalta’s side are back in the top flight of Turkish soccer and now face one of the most anticipated matches of their season: hosting the defending champions in front of their own supporters.

Erzurumspor opened the season with a defeat and remain without a point after Matchday 1, meaning they also need a response.

The difference in squad quality naturally makes Galatasaray the team expected to take the initiative, but playing at Kazım Karabekir Stadium presents a different challenge. Erzurumspor will have the opportunity to feed off their home crowd and try to capitalize on any mistakes from an opponent that already showed some vulnerabilities in its season opener.

Osimhen Once Again the Main Threat

After opening the season with a brace, Victor Osimhen will once again be at the center of attention.

The striker rescued Galatasaray against Çorum and remains the main reference point in an attack that also features players such as Barış Alper Yılmaz, Yunus Akgün and Gabriel Sara.

For Erzurumspor, containing the Nigerian will be one of the biggest keys to the match.
