The match's only goal came from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 73rd minute, following a cross into the box that Ciro Immobile failed to finish. This defeat marked the end of Fenerbahçe’s unbeaten streak on the road this season.

In their previous Süper Lig encounter, Fenerbahçe secured a 3-1 victory over Gaziantep FK at home, extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches. However, in this game against Beşiktaş, they couldn’t maintain that form, allowing Beşiktaş to snap a five-match winless run.
