OFFICIAL: Victor Osimhen Stays at Galatasaray
It’s official: Victor Osimhen will continue wearing the Galatasaray jersey, this time as a permanent player. After a season on loan, the Istanbul-based club has completed a historic deal to acquire the Nigerian forward from Napoli for over €75 million. This makes him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, far surpassing the €25 million that Besiktas paid Benfica this summer for Orkun Kökçü.
The transfer was the result of a meticulous negotiation between the Turkish club's management and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. The agreement includes an upfront payment of €40 million, another €35 million to be paid next season, €5 million in bonuses, and a clause granting Napoli 10% of any future sale. Additionally, there's a condition preventing Galatasaray from selling the player to any Italian club for the next two years.
Galatasaray makes a powerful statement in the market
With a contract that ran until 2026 (which Napoli had the option to extend by one more year), Osimhen now leaves Italy for good after being one of the club’s standout stars in recent seasons. His departure, along with that of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, allows the Naples-based side to collect over €150 million—key capital to fund Antonio Conte’s new project.

Meanwhile, Osimhen returns to a Galatasaray squad that has proven to be the dominant force in Turkish football. His 37 goals in 41 matches earned him the MVP title last season, and keeping him was a top priority for the club, which will also compete in the 2025–26 Champions League.
Under coach Okan Buruk, the team hasn’t stopped strengthening. In addition to securing the Nigerian striker, they’ve added top-class players such as Leroy Sané from Bayern Munich, Jakobs from Monaco, and Frankowski from Lens, building a squad capable of breaking local dominance and challenging seriously in Europe.
With these moves, Galatasaray widens the gap with their eternal rival, Fenerbahçe, now led by José Mourinho, and makes it clear that their ambitions know no bounds.
