(VIDEO) Flick’s Anger with his Players Before The Inter Milan Clash
FC Barcelona, riding high after their Copa del Rey triumph against Real Madrid, face a crucial test in their quest to reach the Champions League final. Their opponent: the always-dangerous Inter Milan, in a matchup that rekindles old wounds and pits the tournament’s best attack against its tightest defense. However, the build-up to the game hasn't been without drama.

A video that quickly went viral on social media showed German coach Hansi Flick visibly furious with some of his players. The reason: a delay by key figures like Gavi and Lamine Yamal in arriving for a critical training session. Known for his strict discipline, Flick made his displeasure clear, reaffirming the demanding style he’s instilled since taking over at Barça.
There’s plenty of emotional weight behind this fixture. The Catalan side is still haunted by the 2010 Champions League semifinal, where José Mourinho’s Inter knocked them out en route to lifting the trophy. That tie was marked by controversial refereeing decisions and unexpected setbacks—like the now-infamous bus trip caused by the Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption.

Today, under Flick’s leadership, Barcelona is relying on youth and energy, with players like Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres, the latter crucial in the recent cup final. Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez are expected to start in defense, although Ronald Araujo might also feature. With Alejandro Balde and Robert Lewandowski ruled out through injury, Flick has kept his starting plans close to his chest, only confirming Wojciech Szczęsny as his goalkeeper.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, arrives in poor form. Coach Simone Inzaghi has seen his side suffer three consecutive defeats, a painful Copa Italia exit to AC Milan, and a sharp drop in defensive solidity. Still, the team remains the least-scored-upon in the competition and could be boosted by the possible return of Marcus Thuram, who’s just resumed training. If he’s not fit, Marko Arnautovic will likely partner Lautaro Martínez, the club’s all-time top scorer in the Champions League.
Barcelona, driven by revenge, will look to capitalize on Inter’s struggles and take one more step toward European glory. Inter, however, will cling to the memories of 2010 and 2022, hoping history can repeat itself.
