Barcelona Sets its Sights on Victor Osimhen to Strengthen Its Attack
FC Barcelona continues planning its future, with one of its main goals being to find the perfect replacement for Robert Lewandowski. According to Strikers, the team managed by Hansi Flick has set its sights on Victor Osimhen, a forward currently playing for Galatasaray, on loan from Napoli.
The German coach has requested the club’s management to make an effort to sign the Nigerian striker, who has shown exceptional form this season. Initially, Osimhen would be considered as a backup for the attack, but in the long term, he would become Lewandowski’s successor.
However, the operation won’t be easy. It’s estimated that Napoli will ask for around 78 to 80 million euros for his transfer, a sum that may be difficult for Barcelona to afford due to their financial struggles.
An unstoppable goal scorer in Turkey
Victor Osimhen’s performance this season has been outstanding. Wearing the Galatasaray shirt, the forward has played 30 matches, scoring 26 goals and providing 5 assists. His numbers have made him one of Europe’s most lethal attackers, attracting the interest of several top clubs.
The Nigerian has been key for the Turkish team, leading the attack with his strength, speed, and excellent finishing ability. These qualities have caught the attention of Barcelona, who is looking for a forward with his profile to strengthen their squad and increase their competitiveness on the international stage.
Lamine Yamal and Barcelona’s ambition
While Barcelona works on possible signings, its current young star, Lamine Yamal, remains focused on making history with the club. The 17-year-old winger has made it clear that his goal is to win all possible titles with the team.
After Barcelona qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League by defeating Benfica (1-0 and 3-1), Lamine Yamal sent a strong message to their rivals: “Our goal is the treble. If I had to choose, I’d go with the Champions League,” he declared in an interview with AS.
The young forward also expressed his desire to face Real Madrid in a potential Champions League final, which would add an extra special touch to their potential victory. “If it’s Madrid, it will be even more special,” he said.
With a team full of young talents and a possible addition of Victor Osimhen, Barcelona is looking to build a bright future in European football. Now, the big question is whether the club can overcome the financial hurdles and close the deal for the Nigerian forward.
