Jude Bellingham Surpasses Messi at a Young Age
Beyond the presence of Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr., Jude Bellingham stands as one of the standout players of the current season for Real Madrid. A footballer who continues to be relevant for the team and has surpassed the numbers that Messi had at his young age.
Bellingham Shatters Messi’s Records
The English player has nine goals and nine assists so far this season, but it’s in the Champions League where he has accumulated a total of 24 direct goal contributions. After adding two assists in the match against RB Salzburg, Bellingham now has 11 goals and 13 assists in the European competition.
This means he has surpassed the 20 direct goal contributions that Lionel Messi had when the Argentine was 20 years old; in fact, before turning 22, Messi finished with 26 contributions, a number that looks easy for Jude Bellingham to reach.
Only Two Players Surpass Him
At the same age, only Kylian Mbappé surpasses him, with 37 goal contributions before turning 22. So, if Bellingham wanted to match that number, he would need to add 13 more this season. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland, like Messi, reached 26.
The English midfielder has already accumulated 32 goals and 22 assists with Real Madrid, including five goals and eight assists in the Champions League. Bellingham continues to expand his records, standing out with a more understated profile than figures like Vinícius and Mbappé, but consistently reaffirming himself as a key player in Carlo Ancelotti's system.
