Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Talks About His Early Months at PSG and How He Wants to Win It All
A player who hasn’t played many matches at his previous club and arrives at a new one has a lot to adjust to. When? I don’t know, but it’s not a concern for us. It’ll happen soon or later, but we’re not in a rush because we signed him for a long-term project. We’re trying to make it happen as soon as possible, but there’s no hurry because the team is in good form. Back in February, Luis Enrique acknowledged this openly. When asked to comment on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's quiet debut in a press conference, the PSG coach called for patience for a player who joined in the winter, right in the middle of the season. Since then, the Georgian international has found his place in the Parisian team and made his mark in the French capital.
A Process of Adjustment That Has Paid Off
Although it took the former Napoli player a few weeks to fully settle in with his new surroundings, teammates, and Luis Enrique's methods, he is now widely praised after a series of standout performances both domestically and internationally. Kvaratskhelia said: "I think the hardest part is that a winter signing can be difficult for the coach because you join the team in the middle of the season. The adaptation time is short, but I think I’ve adjusted pretty well, thanks to the president, the coaching staff, the coaches, the club, and of course, the players who gave me a warm welcome. I feel really good here, and this support helps me perform better on the field."
With 4 goals and 5 assists in 21 appearances across all competitions since his debut, the Georgian has found his rhythm under a coach he deeply admires for his love of the game and closeness to his players. "What impressed me most about Luis Enrique was his character and the way he treats the players. He makes you feel, both on and off the pitch, that you have to give everything for the club and the fans. He treats you with a lot of respect and clarity. I’m really happy to be here with him, at a club like this," the 24-year-old player commented.
Clear Goals: Champions League and French Cup
Just after arriving in the City of Lights, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has already had the chance to win the French championship thanks to the fantastic run of the capital club in Ligue 1 this season. However, the Georgian would be content to lift the French Cup and the Champions League, the two trophies PSG can still conquer. "Obviously, I’m really happy to have won this title. That said, we still have many objectives ahead. We still have the chance to win two more titles, and we’ll give everything on the pitch to achieve that. We’re working hard to win what we deserve. We’re giving it our all. The focus is still there because nothing is decided yet," he said with ambition.
