Lautaro Martínez’s incredible gesture at a restaurant run by people with disabilities
Argentine striker Lautaro Martínez, captain of Inter Milan, made a classy gesture after it was reported that a man left a restaurant without paying — a place where most of the staff have some form of disability. The customer had racked up a 100-euro bill on food and wine before walking out.
The unfortunate incident and Lautaro’s gesture
The situation happened at Osteria Din Dan Don, a restaurant in northern Milan. After finishing his meal, the man tricked the staff and took off without settling the bill. The story quickly went viral and sparked outrage online.

When he found out, Lautaro quietly stepped in. On Monday night, he sent someone he trusts to deliver a signed jersey with a special message for the staff, along with a donation that covered both the unpaid bill and an extra dinner for someone in need.
Gratitude and reactions
“After the unpleasant incident at our restaurant, we received a warm and unexpected surprise from Lautaro Martínez, who wanted to gift our team a signed jersey with a special message! Thank you so much. A gesture that came straight from the heart,” the restaurant shared on Instagram.
Thanks to security footage, the authorities managed to identify the man who left without paying. After that, his partner sent an envelope with the full amount and a tip for the staff. In turn, the restaurant donated that money to the Blue Cross of Corbetta, a local volunteer ambulance service that operates on nights and holidays.
