PSG Travels with the New Neymar in Search of a Comeback Against Liverpool
Désiré Doué has been included in PSG's squad to face Liverpool, despite finishing the match against Rennes with some discomfort
With a fairly alternate team, except for Willian Pacho, Joao Neves, and Barcelona, PSG managed to overcome Stade de Rennes with more complications than usual before traveling to Liverpool in search of a comeback in the Champions League. This morning, Luis Enrique provided the list of players called up for the match and, in the end, Désiré Doué will be available.

Doué finished with discomfort against Rennes
Without a doubt, it was an extremely special match for Désiré Doué, who returned to Roazhon Park just a few months after leaving Stade de Rennes as one of the most expensive transfers in their history. He was very motivated to return home and only took 27 minutes to assist Barcola after a brilliant play where he once again showed his talent.
“It was a great pleasure to come back to this stadium, it’s still the club that gave me the opportunity to start my career,” said Désiré Doué to BeIN SPORTS microphones on the pitch at Roazhon Park. Once again, he was a starter for Luis Enrique and completed the full 90 minutes. However, various media outlets in France raised alarms when they revealed that he finished the match with discomfort.
Luis Enrique, delighted with Doué
It seems it was just a small overload with no major concerns, and in the end, Désiré Doué has made it into the PSG squad to face Liverpool. However, there are still questions about his potential starting role, especially since Kvaratskhelia was one of the best players in Paris, and Luis Enrique was keen to give him rest against Rennes.
Luis Enrique, however, praised Désiré Doué's performance: “He’s a young player who will grow at PSG, he has a great mentality, he’s positive, he lifts the team, and he’s a pleasure for a coach.” Whether starting or coming off the bench, it’s clear that PSG needs Doué to stay 'in Neymar mode' to mount a comeback against Liverpool.
