VIDEO | Prison? Ancelotti's Concern Lies Elsewhere
The Italian coach stated that it's an "old story," he already paid the fine, and he's not worried about this issue at all, but rather another one. And it's not for nothing.
Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian coach of Real Madrid, offered his perspective after the Madrid Prosecutor's Office requested four years and nine months in prison for allegedly defrauding the tax authorities of over one million euros, which he acknowledged he has already paid.
"No measures, it's an old story that started eight years ago over a 2015 declaration because the Prosecutor's Office thinks I was a resident, and I think I wasn't. The fine has already been paid, the money is already with the Prosecutor's Office, and only the lawyers are talking to find a solution," Ancelotti said on Movistar+.
"I am convinced that I am innocent because I was not a resident in 2015, and they think I was. Let's see what the judge decides," the Italian concluded.
What DOES Concern Him
Regarding his tax issues, he assured that they don't affect him "at all," and he is "very calm." However, what does affect him is what happens on the playing field, which was evident to everyone against RB Leipzig.
"The only problem I have is that the team needs to play better," the Italian coach stated in a press conference after the Santiago Bernabéu crowd booed the team for the performance it displayed on the pitch.
