Vitinha Confident PSG Will Reach the Champions League Final
Vitinha, midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, said on Monday that the team isn’t worried about their recent struggles, having picked up just one win in their last four games, as they get ready to face Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals. The Portuguese player spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.
"We might not have been at our best in the last few games, but it’s no big deal — it happens to everyone. We’re not worried," said Vitinha. PSG has managed just one win in their last four matches: they barely beat Le Havre, but lost to Aston Villa and Nice, and also drew with Nantes.
Confidence in the Champions League Despite Lack of Experience
Despite these recent results, the midfielder remained upbeat about their chances in Europe. "We’re in the Champions League semifinals. We’ve never been to the final before, but we’ll try to make the most of what we do well to make up for that lack of experience," he said.
PSG already faced Arsenal back in October during the group stage, a match the London side won 2–0 thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka. However, Vitinha made it clear that this upcoming clash will be very different. "A lot of time has passed and this is going to be a completely different game, because of the stage we’re at. We’re not going to change our style of play, but of course we’ll tweak a few things, and tomorrow we’ll be going all out for the win," he stated.
