Tchouaméni Faces a European Clash With Tough Questions Looming

Real Madrid is preparing for its clash with Roma amid questions about its performances and the criticism the team has faced in recent weeks. During the press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League match, Aurélien Tchouaméni was asked to address several issues putting pressure on the Spanish giants.

The French midfielder defended his teammates but also acknowledged that the team needs to improve. His comments made it clear that, before fully focusing on the European challenge, some uncomfortable questions remain surrounding the Real Madrid dressing room.

Tchouaméni Addresses Frustration With Refereeing

One of the most notable moments came when he was asked about recent refereeing decisions, particularly following the victory over Villarreal in LaLiga. “I don't want to talk about the referees. We're very frustrated. But what matters is that we won the match.”

His comments reflect the frustration within the dressing room, as well as the desire to prevent the controversy from affecting the team's next challenge. The Frenchman acknowledged the frustration while emphasizing the importance of the result and the need to move forward.

The Debate Over Real Madrid's Midfield Remains Open

Tchouaméni also answered questions about the perceived lack of a traditional playmaker in Real Madrid's midfield. “I have my opinion on that; that's your topic. We're elite players working to help the team win,” he said, avoiding fueling the debate over potential signings.

When asked whether the club needs to bring in a midfielder with a different profile, the Frenchman left the decision in the hands of the club's sporting management and coaching staff.

Tchouaméni Admits Real Madrid Still Has Room to Improve

The French international acknowledged that the team still has room to improve its performances and stressed the importance of keeping a level head amid criticism. He also said he is gradually regaining his physical form after the difficulties he experienced following the 2026 World Cup.

Roma now represents an important test for the Spanish giants. Real Madrid will need to prove on the pitch that it can overcome doubts and compete more consistently, while Tchouaméni looks to establish himself as a key component of the team's balance.
