Cerezo Backed Simeone and Said They Are Missing the Champions League
The president of Atlético de Madrid emphasizes that Simeone "has achieved everything" and that the pending goal is the Champions League.
Enrique Cerezo, president of Atlético de Madrid, stressed this Tuesday that Diego Simeone "has achieved everything" as coach of the red-and-white team and that what now "remains" for "everyone" is "to win" the Champions League, in which they face Stuttgart in Germany tonight.
"Diego is a coach who has proven everything, with us he has achieved everything and practically what remains for all of us is to win the Champions League and that is what we are focused on," said the club official.
His team has three of the six points played. "We lost the first match against a great team (2-1 against Liverpool) and we won the second against a great team (2-0 against Manchester United) and we expect to win this one against a great team," he added.
Cerezo predicted that his team will "finish well" this season. "And we are going to achieve what we want, which is titles and wins," assured the Atlético president, who sees his squad "very focused on what they do and what they want." EFE
