Luis Enrique saluted the mentality demonstrated by his Paris Saint-Germain players during their 7-0 win over Brest on Wednesday.

PSG rounded off a resounding 10-0 aggregate victory over their compatriots, while sealing their place in the Champions League last 16 for a 13th successive season.

It was the second-largest aggregate win in a Champions League knockout tie, after Bayern Munich's 12-1 rout of Sporting CP in the 2008-09 season.

PSG also became the first team in the competition's history to have seven different scorers in a single game.

Already 3-0 up from the first leg, Luis Enrique was pleased by the way his players did not allow themselves to get carried away with their favourable position.

"Having seven different goalscorers is a reflection of our team and the mentality of the players," he told reporters.

"Today, almost all of them scored because when they reached the final metres and there was a better-placed player, they passed the ball.

"If they had been selfish, we would have scored fewer goals. I love it, it's the best way to go into the next round. I congratulate all my players for their mentality.

"We were very good from the start, matches that are so favourable from the beginning can be a trap. We didn't relax. We played at all times, respecting one of the best teams in France."

Next up for PSG will be one of the top two teams from the league phase in either Liverpool or Barcelona.

Although they missed out on automatic qualification for the last 16, Luis Enrique believes the extra round will stand his side in better stead.

"This was unfair to us. We should have been among the first places," he added. "We have taken the long road, and that has made us better and prepared us for what is to come.

"I don't think there are any rivals more difficult than the ones we have already faced."
