'We're used to it' – Man City calm ahead of Real Madrid clash
Manchester City and Real Madrid will face off for a Champions League last-16 spot in the play-offs, meeting for the fourth year in a row.
Savinho says Manchester City are feeling confident ahead of their Champions League clash against Real Madrid, which they will approach with no fear.
City were at risk of being knocked out of the Champions League heading into the final matchday of the league phase, but a comeback win over Club Brugge sealed their place in the play-offs.
They were drawn against the defending champions, who finished 11th in the table, with this the fifth time the teams have been drawn against each other in the last five years.
It is just the fourth fixture in European Cup/Champions League history to be played in four consecutive seasons, while it is their 13th meeting overall in Europe's premier competition, with City winning four of those (D5 L3).
Pep Guardiola's side will play at home in the first leg and are the slight favourites to win that tie, given a 42.7% chance by the Opta supercomputer, with Madrid's chances of taking an advantage to the Santiago Bernabeu sitting at 33%.
Despite a tumultuous season, Savinho says there is a quiet confidence in City's squad given their history of playing in big games.
"These are the games that I came to Manchester City to play in, and every big player wants to play in them, so not just me, but many experienced players who are in the dressing room," he told ESPN.
"These are the games for the big players, the big managers. They are great games to watch, great games to play in and, hopefully, Manchester City can come out with two victories over these two legs.
"It was a calm atmosphere [when the draw was made]. We're used to it; we played them a lot over recent seasons. It's such a beautiful tie.
"We stayed calm, of course, we had no choice. We couldn't choose who our opponents would be, but we're just waiting to get out onto the pitch."
Despite only losing three of their 12 games against them in the competition, City have been eliminated from the Champions League knockout stages by Madrid more often than by any other opponent (three times).
Having played in Spain with Girona, on loan from Troyes last season, Savinho says he knows what to expect from Los Blancos.
"It's a team I know a lot," he said. "They have great players.
"Real Madrid are among the best teams in the world, so we hope to put on a great show. It's going to be a great tie to watch, a great tie to play in. Hopefully, luck is on our side and Manchester City can progress.
"It's been a difficult season, especially compared to the recent ones that we've had. This is a team that's won four Premier Leagues in a row, so, of course, it's very different.
"The supporters who come here, they're used to seeing us win the treble, win four in a row and this is something else for them.
"But in football, it's not all sunshine and flowers. We have to focus, and we've really got to focus on how we can improve."
