The Mysterious Paper Ranieri Gave to Valverde After the Athletic Club vs Roma Match
Claudio Ranieri, coach of Roma, admitted to handing Ernesto Valverde his business card
Claudio Ranieri has always been, is, and will always be a gentleman from head to toe, before, during... and after matches. Last night, after the early red card for Hummels, Roma couldn’t hold onto their lead and was eliminated by Athletic Club. However, instead of getting into controversies, he went to find Ernesto Valverde to give him a mysterious piece of paper.
Ranieri Gave His Business Card
The cameras captured the moment after the final whistle. However, it wasn’t until the post-match press conference that Claudio Ranieri revealed what the mysterious paper contained. After persistent questions from journalists, Ranieri confessed that he had handed Ernesto Valverde his business card.
“My business card. We’re such good friends that I gave it to him; I had lost his number. I need to talk to him because he knows a lot of Spanish players and could be helpful to me,” Claudio Ranieri confessed after the match despite his Roma team’s loss, which will have to keep fighting in Serie A to try and play in Europe next season.
The Spectacular Work of Ranieri at Roma
After announcing his retirement as a coach at the end of last season, Claudio Ranieri decided to answer the call from Roma following a disastrous start to the season with Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric. Since then, the team has undergone a transformation that’s hard to explain, allowing them to go from fighting relegation... to being in a position to enter Europe.
This matchday, before facing the FIFA break, Ranieri will enjoy a special match against Cagliari. However, he is aware that he must quickly recover from this defeat to keep pursuing his objectives: “It’s time to start again, going back out onto the field and trying to bring in as many points as possible. In three days, we have another match, and we have the opportunity to get things back on track.”
