Jurgen Klopp's first international window in charge of Germany ended in underwhelming fashion as his team were held to a 0-0 draw by Greece.
Greece 0-0 Germany: Klopp's men frustrated in Nations League draw
Greece once again frustrated Germany, as they held Jurgen Klopp's team to a 0-0 draw in Sunday's Nations League contest.
Klopp has won just one of his first four games in charge of Germany, who sit third in Nations League Group A2, three points behind Greece and the Netherlands.
Indeed, Greece got the better of Germany in Klopp's second game in charge, winning 2-1, and there was to be no revenge for Klopp's team on Sunday.
Germany did think they had taken the lead midway through the first half at Stadio Toumbas, but Jonathan Burkardt saw his goal disallowed for handball.
The lively Derry Scherhant also went close before half-time, but some changes from Greece boss Ivan Jovanovic helped the hosts tighten matters up after the break.
Giorgos Masouras could well have won it for Greece, but he headed wide from a free header.
Philipp Treu, however, had the best chance to settle the contest, only to slice over late on.
Germany dominate, but lack clinical touch
If it was an all-round, dominant display Klopp was looking for, then it was certainly served up by his team.
Germany had 45 touches in the opponent's box, took on 21 shots and had 70.1% possession.
Yet they only translated that to one big chance, four shots on target and chances worth a combined 1.05 expected goals.
Greece, on the other hand, had just five attempts, but they were worth a combined 0.72 xG.
Klopp must, then, have his concerns about Germany's strength in both boxes, and five points from the 12 on offer across his first four games in charge of the national team is not the return he would have been hoping for.
