Gibbs-White receives England call-up
Morgan Gibbs-White was a surprise omission from Thomas Tuchel's first England squad, but the playmaker has now received a call-up.
Thomas Tuchel has called up Morgan Gibbs-White for England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.
Nottingham Forest playmaker Gibbs-White was a notable omission from Tuchel's first England squad, which was announced on Friday.
Gibbs-White responded with an excellent performance in Forest's 4-2 win at Ipswich Town on Saturday, in which he teed up Jota Silva's goal.
That was his 40th Premier League goal involvement for Forest (15 goals, 25 assists), seeing him overtake Bryan Roy (39).
Only Ian Woan (44) has more combined goals and assists for the club in the competition.
On Sunday, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca revealed Cole Palmer was likely to miss England's games due to an injury sustained in training.
And while England did not officially confirm Palmer's withdrawal, they did reveal Gibbs-White has been called up to the squad.
Tuchel's side take on Albania on Friday before facing Latvia three days later.
