Tuchel’s England Looks More Unstoppable After Crushing Serbia
Thomas Tuchel’s England continued their perfect run with a 5-0 demolition of Serbia, claiming a fifth straight win and tightening their grip on first place in Group K on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
Total dominance from the start
The England National Team, coached by Thomas Tuchel, maintained their flawless record in the qualifiers with a commanding 5-0 victory over Serbia on the road. With this result, England reached five straight wins and sit firmly atop Group K, seven points clear of Albania and eight ahead of the Serbians, who still have a game in hand.
England quickly imposed control of possession, moving the ball side to side in search of spaces. Declan Rice tried his luck from distance, while Reece James and Noni Madueke pressed down the right wing. Serbia, well organized at the back, threatened on the counter but barely troubled goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The breakthrough came in the 33rd minute when Rice delivered a corner and Harry Kane, unmarked in the box, headed home for the opener. Just three minutes later, a move starting with Pickford ended with Madueke coolly finishing one-on-one to make it 2-0 before halftime.
A lethal second half
Serbia’s coach Dragan Stojkovic sought a reaction by introducing Kostic and Jovic after the break, but the changes had no effect. England remained dominant, and in the 52nd minute, Anthony Gordon’s shot was deflected, falling to Ezri Konsa, who tapped in for 3-0.
The night got worse for Serbia in the 72nd minute, when Milenkovic was shown a straight red card for bringing down Kane as the last defender. From the resulting free kick, Rice delivered another precise ball into the box, where Marc Guehi extended the lead to 4-0.
Late in the game, Ollie Watkins earned a penalty after VAR review, and Marcus Rashford converted to seal the 5-0 rout. With this win, England has five consecutive victories and is closing in on securing their place at the 2026 World Cup.
