Endrick Is Afraid of Not Making It to the 2026 World Cup with Brazil: A message to Real Madrid?
Endrick stated in an interview with Romario that he is afraid of not being able to play with Brazil at the 2026 World Cup due to his lack of playing time
Exactly one year ago, during the March 2024 FIFA window, Endrick introduced himself to the Santiago Bernabéu crowd by scoring against Spain. A few days earlier, he became the fourth-youngest scorer in Brazil's history after his goal against England at Wembley. However, the situation he faces now is very different from a year ago… and the fears have started to appear.

Endrick confesses his fears to Romario
Specifically, his fear of being able to make it to the 2026 World Cup with Brazil, just like he did last summer when Dorival Jr included him among the call-ups for the Copa América. But, after not being called up initially for this crucial FIFA window against Colombia and Brazil, Endrick is seeing his place on the national team in jeopardy. In fact, if Neymar hadn't been injured, he would have watched the matches from home.
“The truth is that it makes me really sad not to be in the World Cup. You went through that too (Romário), my dad even told me that you were waiting and weren’t called up. So I have that fear. Because it’s my dream. It’s hard to say, because I want to be in the World Cup and help Brazil win their sixth title,” he confessed to Romario in an exclusive interview.
An indirect message from Endrick to Real Madrid?
Endrick's prominence with Brazil since joining Real Madrid, where he has had little continuity, has significantly decreased. His last start dates back to the September FIFA window, where Dorival substituted him at halftime against Paraguay. Since then, he has only played 26 minutes, was not called up for the November break… and didn't play against Colombia in the last match, despite the need for a comeback.
“Of course, it's difficult being at the biggest club in the world, with the best players, and not having the chance to play all the time. But every time I play, I can prove my level to be in the national team. I hope that next year I can be in the national team, and if God allows it, we’ll win the World Cup.” These words only fuel the rumors about whether he will ask to leave Real Madrid to ensure a spot in the World Cup.
