(VIDEO) Djokovic and Fan Who Proposed to Him at Australian Open
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic experienced an unexpected and unusual confrontation off the court during his victory over Czech Tomas Machac in the third round of the Australian Open. A particularly loud fan began making noise during the match, which started to annoy the Serbian. Djokovic responded with serious looks and defiant gestures just minutes before serving to close out the match.
The moment between Djokovic and the fan
Once he sealed his victory, which marked his 17th appearance in the Australian Open's round of 16, the former world No. 1 took the microphone in the post-match interview and, in good humor, confronted his "rival" in the stands.
While talking about his win, the fan shouted again, this time without hostility: "Marry me!"
"Sorry, buddy, I already have a wife, but we can grab a drink. Although, from what I see, maybe you've already had a few," Djokovic joked, causing laughter from the crowd.
"During the match, he and I had a little exchange, but now that the game is over, I think it's the perfect time to reflect on what we said. I'm willing to share a drink with him," he added with a smile.
