Leeds back on top after derby win over Wednesday
Leeds United moved back to the top of the EFL Championship with a 3-0 victory over Yorkshire rival Sheffield Wednesday.
The home side made an ideal start at Elland Road, going in front when Manor Solomon hammered home just three minutes in after Owls goalkeeper James Beadle failed to intercept a raking pass from Brenden Aaronson.
Wednesday threatened at times, going closest to an equaliser with a 20-yard attempt from Djeidi Gassama, which goalkeeper Ivan Meslier had to push around the post.
The match was settled two minutes from time as substitute Largie Ramzani finished from the edge of the box after his initial shot was blocked.
The hosts added further gloss to the scoreline in stoppage-time when Ramzani's shot was flicked in by Ao Tanka.
Leeds, which remains unbeaten at Elland Road since September, is one point above second-place Sheffield United, whose city rival Wednesday stays 10th and four points adrift of the top six.
