Sunderland victory shores up play-off spot
Sunderland further cemented its place in the EFL Championship's promotion play-off positions with a 1-0 victory away to West Bromwich Albion.
Trai Hume scored the only goal of the game on 35 minutes, with his whipped free-kick missing everyone in the box and going straight into the back of the net.
Despite the Baggies dominating possession and controlling the game, they were unable to avoid a damaging defeat and now trail the top six by two points with six games remaining.
Sunderland remains in fourth position, 15 clear of fifth-placed Middlesbrough.
