Watford claims five-goal thrilled with late winner
Watford came from a goal down to beat struggling Norwich City 3-2 thanks to Tom Ince's late goal in a five-goal EFL Championship thriller at Vicarage Road.
Ince's first goal for 13 months saw Watford close the gap to the play-off places, while Philippe Clement still awaits his first win since taking over the Canaries last month.
Oscar Schwartau had put Norwich 2-1 up going into the break, having seen Luca Kjerrumgaard cancel out Josh Sargent's 11th-minute opener in the contest.
Watford restored parity as Kjerrumgaard notched his second just after the hour before Ince emerged from the bench to find the back of the net with 12 minutes remaining.
Watford now sits in 13th on the table, but is only three points from the play-off picture in a characteristically congested division.
"In the first half they were better than us. They controlled the game. The best thing for us was the reaction of the team in the second half," Hornets manager Javi Gracia said.
"I'm not so happy today because it's not the way we want to play. We want to play in a constant way, not only in the second 45 minutes. It's something we need to improve in the next games.
"In the first half we were playing without moving the ball quickly and then it's easy for opponents.
"It's hard to come back again but we did it. I'm happy for the result but maybe for other games we didn't win I was happier than today.
"We need to find a better balance to be more competitive."
Norwich, meanwhile, remains in trouble, second bottom on 13 points and seven adrift of safety.
Clement said: "We could have killed the game earlier. We had the most periods in control of the game and the best chances but in the end it's about the result.
"For sure [we were] unlucky. Also some decisions I want to see back. In the first half I think there was a penalty.
"We had more chances than Watford today so then it's really disappointing that you go home without points"
