Espanyol and Valencia remain in trouble after draw
Espanyol missed the chance to get clear of the bottom three in LaLiga and Valencia spurned an opportunity to move off the foot of the table as both sides dropped points in a 1-1 draw at RCDE Stadium.
Javi Puado put the hosts ahead with a header from Antoniu Roca's cross just before the break after both sides had prevously hit the woodwork.
But Valencia flew out of the blocks in the second half, Diego Lopez finding a crucial finish three minutes after the restart whic Joan Garcia wasn't strong enough to keep out of his goal.
Espanyol thought it was back in front immediately after that, but Jofre Carreras's strike was ruled out after Walid Cheddira triggered the automated offside system in the build-up.
Diego Lopez found the net again for Valencia in the 84th minute, but he too was flagged for offside, and ultimatey neither side could break the deadlock, leaving them with a point apiece when both would have wanted much more.
Valencia remains bottom of LaLiga on 11 points having won only two matches so far this season.
Espanyol is in 18th on 15 points, one shy of Alaves in the safety of 17th place.
