Real Madrid confirm muscle injuries for Militao and Guler
Real Madrid have confirmed both Eder Militao and Arda Guler have suffered muscle injuries.
Militao started in the narrow victory over Alaves, but was replaced before half-time as he limped off the pitch.
Guler played 58 minutes in the win at the Santiago Bernabeu, and assisted Kylian Mbappe's opener, but was forced off and substituted for Franco Mastantuono.
The 21 year-old leads Los Blancos for assists in LaLiga this season, with nine, while his four goals are his second-best in the Spanish top-flight in a single campaign (six in 2023-24).
Militao, meanwhile, has continued to struggle with injuries this season, featuring in just 16 LaLiga games and starting 14.
Across the last three seasons, he has played in just 38 top-flight games for Los Blancos.
The club did not confirm whether either player would be ruled out for the remainder of the season, or if it would miss this summer's World Cup.
Madrid is back in action on Saturday, when it takes on Real Betis, though its chances of winning LaLiga are slim after Barcelona regained its nine-point lead with six games to go.
At the World Cup, Militao's Brazil will face Scotland, Morocco and Haiti in the group stage, while Guler's Turkey are set to go up against Australia, Paraguay and co-hosts United States.
