Zaha, who has linked up with Dean Smith's side from Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray, spent the first half of the 2024-2025 campaign on loan with Lyon.

The Ivory Coast international managed just six appearances across all competitions under Pierre Sage, a total of 112 minutes of football in those outings.

He will occupy a Designated Player roster slot alongside Liel Abada and Karol Swiderski, and offers another exciting option in attack for the Crown ahead of the new season.

Charlotte finished fifth in the Eastern Conference last year, but fell at the first hurdle in the play-offs in its best-of-three series clash against Orlando City.

It marks the third piece of business Charlotte has done in the transfer window, having already acquired Portland Timbers' Eryk Williamson and Pep Biel from Olympiacos.

Charlotte's second season under Smith kicks off on 23 February (AEDT) at Lumen Field, when it faces Seattle Sounders.
