Elliot Anderson bids farewell to Forest
Elliot Anderson has bid Nottingham Forest farewell, saying the club "will always have a special place in my heart" after his transfer to Manchester City.
Anderson has joined the eight-time Premier League champion in a deal reportedly worth £116m, after a two-year spell at Forest.
During his time at the City Ground, he helped Forest finish seventh in the Premier League in 2024-2025 and reach the semi-finals of the 2025-2026 Europa League, losing to eventual winner Aston Villa.
Forest was embroiled in a relegation fight in the Premier League last season, but Anderson was a key part of ensuring it remained in the top flight.
"Firstly, I am so grateful for the love and support you have shown me over the last two years, especially towards the end of this season. From the minute I walked through the door, I fell in love with this club," Anderson said in a social media post.
"I want to thank all the staff and players for welcoming me and making my time here so enjoyable. This club gave me the opportunity to grow as a player and a person.
"Bringing the club European football again after 29 years is what all of you fans deserved, and to be a helping hand in that was so special.
"Nottingham Forest will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for all the unforgettable memories."
Anderson also played a crucial role for England at the World Cup, as the Three Lions finished third to record their best finish since winning the trophy in 1966.
It was also their best-ever performance in the tournament on foreign soil, with Anderson nailing down a regular starting spot alongside Declan Rice in midfield.
