Fulham sits bottom of the Premier League table with just two points to its name, while it is one of three teams – along with Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth – yet to win this term.

Having drawn two and lost four of its six games so far, it is Fulham's worst start to a Premier League campaign since 2020-2021, when it drew once and lost five of its opening fixtures.

The Cottagers have also lost eight points from winning positions already in the Premier League this season, with only Bournemouth dropping more.

But when asked whether he was concerned about his future, Arbeloa said he was still optimistic, despite results not going Fulham's way.

"I am focused on my players, on my team," he said. "That is the most important thing.

"It is not about me; it is about the club, the players and the supporters.  We are waiting for the game when the performance turns into the result.

"I never worry about my position. I don't feel fear. You cannot be a coach if you feel it. You have to work, take the decision, and you need to show confidence to your players.

"For me, I am so happy with many things that they are doing. I know it is not easy for them.

"It's not about my position; it is about Fulham's position. That is the most important thing. Obviously, it is just six games, but it is true we need points."

Fulham hosts Hull City in its next Premier League match, a side that has been flying since rising up from the EFL Championship last season.
