Conte, Inzaghi suspended for Serie A title decider
Napoli and Inter will not have their coaches on the touchline for their Serie A title-deciding matches on Saturday morning.
The penultimate round of fixtures was a dramatic one, with emotions and tempers boiling over in multiple games.
Inter was closing in on a win over Lazio, which, with Napoli drawing against Parma, would have put Simone Inzaghi's side top of the table, when the referee went to the VAR monitor to check for a possible penalty for Lazio.
Inzaghi and his opposite number Marco Baroni were involved in heated exchanges on the touchline, and were both shown a red card. The penalty for a Yann Bisseck hand-ball was awarded, and converted by Pedro in the 90th minute of the 2-2 draw.
Napoli, meanwhile, was unable to get the better of relegation-battling Parma and in the 90th minute of the scoreless draw, Antonio Conte and his counterpart Cristian Chivu were involved in a shouting match and were both sent off.
It means that both of the top two teams will not have their coaches in the dugout on Saturday, when Napoli hosts Cagliari and Inter takes on Como.
Napoli holds a one-point advantage, meaning a win would guarantee it the title.
Should Napoli lose and Inter pick up a point, then there will be a Scudetto-deciding play-off, which will be held on Tuesday.
Inzaghi will, however, definitely have one more turn on the bench this season, with Inter meeting Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on 31 May in Munich.
AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao will also miss his side's final game after his sending off in added time of a 3-1 defeat at Roma.
That could well have been Conceicao's last match on the Milan bench, with the club going into the game at home to Monza already out of the hunt for a place in Europe next season. The Rossoneri lost the Coppa Italia final against Bologna last week.
