Allegri confirmed as Napoli's new head coach
Napoli has officially confirmed the long-awaited appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as its new head coach on a three-year contract.
The Partenopei have been on the lookout for a new boss since Antonio Conte departed at the end of the 2025-2026 campaign.
Having led Napoli to the Scudetto in 2024-2025, Conte oversaw a second-placed finish last term, but its 76 points were the fewest collected by one of his teams in a Serie A season.
Allegri was immediately considered the favourite to take the reins, after he was dismissed by AC Milan as a result of its failure to secure UEFA Champions League qualification.
The Rossoneri finished fifth in Serie A, just a single point behind fourth-placed Como, causing Allegri's second stint at San Siro to be cut short after just one year.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had already confirmed Allegri was Napoli's top target, saying the club was "seeking consistency" with its next coaching appointment.
His arrival was finally confirmed on Friday, as he penned a contract to run until June 2029.
Allegri has won 14 trophies throughout his managerial career, two with Milan and 12 with Juventus, where he has also had two separate stints.
After leading Milan to the Scudetto in 2010-2011, he oversaw a run of five consecutive league titles with Juve, while he also won five Coppa Italia crowns with the Bianconeri, one of which came in his second stint in 2023-2024.
Napoli will open its 2026-2027 campaign with a trip to Genoa, before going into a tough double-header against Cesc Fabregas's Como and champion Inter Milan.
