Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to miss the rest of the 2026-27 season after sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
'Mentality and attitude is in our DNA', says Luis Enrique, but PSG rocked by Kvaratskhelia ACL injury
Paris Saint-Germain's mentality continues to thrill Luis Enrique, but he will be without one of his star players for the rest of 2026-27.
Kvaratskhelia went off midway through the second half at Parc des Princes as Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona 4-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
PSG have now confirmed the winger tore his ACL, meaning he is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign.
And while that news is a blow for PSG, Luis Enrique was thrilled with his team's mentality in their thrilling win over the Blaugrana.
However, he does not feel PSG are the favourites to win the Champions League, even as they aim to follow up back-to-back triumphs.
"I don't see PSG as the favourite," he said.
"This match isn't decisive; the decisive month will be in April, that will be the most important month, with the knockout matches.
"In the meantime, we have to win every match. The rest isn't important. Mentality and attitude are in our DNA."
Luis Enrique did, though, claim PSG have the best team in world football.
"Of course; I have the best players in the world," he said.
"They are the best for me. There are no better players than us."
PSG are unbeaten in their last 13 Champions League games (W9 D4), their joint-longest run in the competition (also 13 between October 2012 and November 2013).
Ousmane Dembele was another casualty, however, as he sustained a hamstring issue, which will likely keep him out for several weeks.
