In a match between two of the WTA Tour's brightest young talents, 19-year-old Joint was forced to fend of Eala's challenge from first set to last to win her second title in two months, having claimed the Morocco Open crown on clay in May.
"I’m very happy right now," Joint said after the match, which lasted a gruelling two hours and 26 minutes.
"It was a very difficult match. That third set, I’m proud of myself for coming back and staying in the match.
"I think Alex played really well today. She definitely tested me. I think after the first set, she got a lot more aggressive with her balls. I was on the back foot, I felt like, for most of the match. I just needed to try to find a way to get back into it."
Joint almost claimed two titles in a day as she played the doubles final as well after beating Eala for the singles title.
Paired with Hsieh Su-wei, she was up against Marie Bouzkova and Anna Danilina, who ultimately proved too strong, taking the final 6-4 7-5 in one hour and 21 minutes.
Joint, though, will likely move into the world's top 50 on the back of this win, which looked like it might be an easy one as she raced to a 4-1 lead in the first set.
But Eala battled back to get back on serve at 5-4, but the Australian managed to close it out, breaking Eala again when it mattered.
That set ended on an Eala error, but it was Joint that began to make mistakes in the second set as the 20-year-old Filipina started to find her range and reeled off a 6-1 win to take the match to a thrilling decider.
Eala took the first lead, winning her sixth game in a row to move ahead 2-0, but Joint was starting to read Eala's serve and broke the Filipina twice to move from a break down to a break up at 3-2.
Eala rallied again, though, and was two points from winning the title herself at 5-4 and 6-5, but Joint pushed back to force the tiebreak, where the drama became all the more intense.
Eala moved into a 5-2 lead before Joint wrestled it back to 5-5, but another forehand winner gave the Filipina her first championship point at 6-5.
Joint repelled that to win the next two points and earn her first championship point at 7-6, but Eala again passed the Australian with a forehand winner to level it at 7-7.
Three more Eala championship points came and went as Joint refused to give up, and after forcing another Eala error, Joint levelled it up at 10-10 having saved a remarkable four championship points.
Eala then made an error on her backhand to give Joint her second championship point at 11-10, and she sealed it with a backhand winner.
