CAF and broadcast partner beIN SPORTS to stage live CAF Interclub Quarter-Final draws in Doha, Qatar on Thursday, 20 February
The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and broadcast partner beIN SPORTS will stage the quarter-final draws for the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup on Thursday, 20 February in Doha, Qatar.
The eagerly anticipated draw ceremony at beIN SPORTS’ world-class studios from the network’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) headquarters in Doha, will lay down the path to the final for the remaining eight sides in each of CAF’s prestigious Interclub competitions.
The draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will take place at 16h00 Cairo/ 14h00 GMT / 17h00 East Africa Time/MECCA and the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will be at 17h00 Cairo time/ 15h00 GMT/ 18h00 East Africa Time/MECCA. Fans can follow proceedings live on beIN SPORTS in Arabic on its free-to-air channel beIN SPORTS NEWS and in English on beIN SPORTS ENGLISH 1.
The draw is yet another demonstration of a strong partnership between beIN SPORTS and CAF that was cemented in 2017 with the signing of a 12-year broadcast agreement that covers 40 countries in the MENA and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions, as well as France and the United States.
The draw ceremony will be led by renowned beIN SPORTS presenter Mohammed Saadoun Al-Kuwari. Al-Kuwari will be assisted by 2015 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and 2016 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup winner Rainford Kalaba from Zambia, Egyptian legend Wael Gomaa and revered former Algeria international Rabah Madjer.
Also in attendance will be Hani Ballan, Chairman of the Qatar Football Association’s (QFA) Referees Committee and Vice Chairman of FIFA’s Referees Committee, as well Legal Director Ettore Mazzilli and Nicola Antognetti on behalf of the QFA.
The quarter-finals of both competitions will be played over two legs, with the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League scheduled for 1 April and 8 April, 2025. The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final fixtures are set to take place on 2 April and 9 April 2025.
The clubs will also know their potential semi-final opponents with the draw for that stage held as well. Both draws will feature the reigning champions of each competition: Al Ahly SC, title holders of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, and Zamalek SC, the defending TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup champions.
