Tresoldi treble stuns Inter in famous Club Brugge victory

  • Nicolo Tresoldi's hat-trick powered Club Brugge to a stunning 4-3 Champions League victory at Inter Milan.

Nicolo Tresoldi, who had earlier struck the post, opened the scoring from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark after Hakan Calhanoglu brought down Carlos Forbs.

Lautaro Martinez levelled before the break, holding off his marker before turning to finish after good work from Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco down the left.

Brugge regained the lead following a defensive mix-up between Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez and his backline. Carlos Forbs slipped the ball through the goalkeeper's legs, allowing Tresoldi to tap into an empty net.

Tresoldi completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute, but Martinez struck again seven minutes later to give Inter renewed hope.

Romeo Vermant made it 4-2 in the 87th minute before Ange-Yoan Bonny pulled another goal back deep into stoppage time, although it proved little more than consolation for the hosts.
